What a cruddy day!

The kids are watching the Wizard of OZ while I sit here at the computer! It is technically "rest time" but they are watching a movie today while they rest. I think Brax is already asleep. Can you believe I passed my love of Wizard of Oz onto my kids? We have to fast forward past the tornado part but other than that, they love it!

Freezing rain is coming down as I sit her typing. I was all excited for the big SNOW storm but ICE I can do without. I was so looking forward to Spring. We even planted some tulips in our flower beds last fall and they had already come up. They hadn't started blooming yet and now I am sure they won't! An inch of ice might be a little hard to survive!

Just one cute little story to share! Last week, the girls and I went to Wal-Mart and Braylee spotted some Clorox wipes. She said, "Mom, do we need some more Clorox wipes?" Brecca said, "What are Clorox wipes?" and Braylee goes, "Brecca, they kill 99% of germs!" That girl just cracks me up!!!

Flying High

I can't believe today is the last "official" day of Spring Break! Back to school on Monday! The weather has been beautiful so we have enjoyed lots of time outside. It is 8:40 and the girls are still asleep. Brax is at Nanny and Poppy's. What am I doing up?

We went to the park one day and had a picnic. Actually, we went through the McDonalds drive-thru and then took that to the park? Is that still considered a picnic? Technically, there was no picnic basket or picnic blanket. Only a McDonalds sack and a cement table but I still consider it a picnic. Regardless, we ate lunch at the park!

Then we headed down the road to an open field and attempted to fly some kites! Apparently, the is a correct way to attach the string to a kite and I wasn't clued in on that. :) No success!

Nate got home at 4:00 so we headed out to the college to try again. This time, it was a success! The kids had a great time. I would seriously suggest going to Wal-Mart and buying a kite. They are only $1 so it certainly isn't a big investment and the kids sure enjoyed them.

Brecca got her kite way up in the air!

Way to go Bray!

Brax didn't have quite the success the girls had but he still had fun.

I found this question and answer thing on a blog that I happened to come across. I have no idea what blog it was so I can' t give credit to anyone. A little random!

Braylee had her preschool screening on Friday morning. We would like for her to get into the same preschool Brecca went to as a peer model. We had Braylee screened on Friday to see if she would qualify. She qualified with no problem although she refused to do the hearing screening portion of it. She has on some headphones and when she heard a beep, she was supposed to drop a little animal into a bucket. She just sat there playing with the animals! The lady would say, " Did you hear a beep?" Braylee would say yes and the woman would say, "Well, then drop the animal in the bucket." I was concerned that maybe she wasn't really hearing it but the lady assured me she was. She said she could tell in her eyes when she heard the beep. The lady who was testing her asked me if she was a little stubborn! I said a little stubborn would be an understatement! :) She also asked if she happened to be a middle child (yes, she is!) and told me to have fun with her when she gets older!

After the screening, we picked Brecca up from my dad's house. They had been up on the roof - shaking the pecan tree so some more pecans would fall for them to pick up. Brecca had to get back up there and show me so that meant Braylee had to go too! I don't know what possessed me to just stand on the ground and take pictures, but that is what I did! After that we headed to Wal-Mart. As I have mentioned before, we are on the Dave Ramsey plan and so I only had $60 left of my food money! I really had to control myself and was proud that I came in at $59.11. I have to admit though, I did have to put back my $6 package of Charmin! I had to come home and scrounge up some change and buy a $1 package from the grocery store! I guess we can survive on that for a week. :)

When we got home, I immediately sat down at the computer to check for blog updates on my Google Reader. While I was doing that, my sweet little 6 year old daughter put all of my groceries away! What a nice girl! I briefly checked to make sure everything was in it's appropriate place and all was well. Until dinner time Monday night! I was making a new recipe that required two cans of Grands Biscuits. I checked the refrigerator - no biscuits. The freezer - no biscuits! OK, last resort. The cabinet? There they were. Two cans of biscuits - exploded in my cabinet! Needless to say, we had to change dinner plans! Hey, she tried! It was the thought that counts, right? :)

Bowling!!!

For some reason Brax had to stick his arm out everytime he bowled!

And boy did he celebrate!

He didn't care if he knocked down one pin or all 10! Although he was disappointed if he didn't knock down any!

It looks like there may have been a little loft on this one!

Celebrating!

Kam and BrayleeLarsen admiring his shot!

Look at that form!
We went bowling Saturday night with my dad and Janis. Kara and Matt met us there. We actually got there about 8 and then had to wait until 9:30 before we finally got to bowl. I figured the kids would be worn out by then but they were so excited they did fine. Brecca and Kam actually bowled really well. Kam got over 100 and Brecca was pretty close! I hate to admit this online for the whole world to see, but I think all the kids bowled better than Papa Randy! A good time was had by all!!!!

It Morning Time?

Brax's new thing when he gets up is, " Hey Mommy, it morning time?" It doesn't matter if it's 5am or 3pm. I guess if it's morning time (which basically means daylight!), that means he can stay up. If we say no then he has to go back to bed. Nate and I were discussing this and thinking back to when Brecca was about his age. Her thing was, "Is it sunny days?" If it was "sunny days", it was time to get up! I couldn't remember Braylee asking anything like that and then I remembered! Braylee slept until 10 or 11am and never napped so she always knew that by the time she woke up, it was always ok to get up!

Brax got out of the bathtub this evening and when I looked in the toy room, I happened to catch him standing on top of the toy box looking out the front window. "Hey Mommy, it's morning time!" he yells! "No Brax, it's night night time," I told him. Then I looked out the window. The porch light was on so it looked like "morning time." I went into the hallway and shut out the light. "See Brax, it's night night time!" He ran over and quickly turned the light back on. "See, I told you it morning time!" Wishful thinking Buddy! Bedtime is a little early tonight! The Bachelor Season Finale is calling my name!
