Birth to 3 Visit

Well, we had our B-3 visit today. They were really impressed with how well Brax was doing with his speech since their last visit. At our last visit, we decided he was doing well enough that they would only check up on him every other month instead of every month. So the good news today was that he had met his last goal and that they would move him up to another goal. His last goal was to start using 2-3 word phrases. His new goal from today is that he is more understandable (is that a word??) to people other than those who are around him a lot. They said his language is much better now - we just need to concentrate now on the actual speech sounds. He needs to work on k and g mainly along with a few others. He is age appropriate now though and not delayed in any way so that is a great thing! They still believe that he was so focused on so many other things that he just didn't have time to talk and I completely agree. I remember people telling us that once he started, he would never stop! I am no longer doubting those people. :)

Brecca had a soccer game this morning. Nate said she did a really good job today! She is usually not the most aggressive child on the field (I know this is hard to imagine - she is usually a real go-getter!) but Nate said she was after the ball a lot today! Unfortunately, it was her last game for this year. Moving on to basketball next - which I am sure she will excel at! (NOT) Nate has the priviledge of coaching that too. He is really looking forward to it! :) Did you pick up on a hint on sarcasm????

Tonight is the big Halloween party with Grandma Ann. It was getting a little too big for her house so she moved it to the Knights of Columbus this year. She can invite a few more people too so that works out well. I attached a few pictures of the soccer game this morning.

Sleep Tight!

I promised Chelse last week that I would post this funny picture that I had but I have never gotten around to it. This is my bed one morning last week. It is a little difficult to tell but that is Braylee lying horizontally between Brecca and Brax. It is hard to imagine I was in there somewhere too! Actually, I was at the end of the bed. Not my best night's sleep, I have to admit!

Pumpkin Patch

What a fun day! The weather was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better October day. It started out a little chilly so I was worried but it warmed up beautifully! The kids really enjoyed the pumpkin patch and we all enjoyed spending time with Nanny and Poppy. The camper was a little crowded with 9 people in it but I think Chelse and I got the best end of the deal. We slept in the bedroom with Tylee while the three girls (Maya, Brecca, and Braylee) slept on the floor in the front room. Poppy slept on the hide-a-bed with Brax and Nanny slept in the recliner (she does that at home too - it feels better on her back! We aren't that mean!) I was pleased with the picture opportunities and think we got some good ones!

Eggs

OK, so we are all still alive! Just been awhile since I have had a few minutes. :) The girls went camping on Thursday night with Nanny and Poppy and Nate is at the lake for STAG weekend so it is just Brax and I. He is watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the moment so I am free. Later this morning, we are meeting Chelse and Tylee and then heading over to Farlington to pick up Nanny and Poppy and the girls. Then we are heading back to the St. Paul area to a small pumpkin patch over there. I think the kids will enjoy that! I will have pictures to post tomorrow. I am hoping to get some good ones.

I do have a couple of cute stories - one on each kid. The other night I was lying in bed with the girls and Brecca told me, " Mom, you are the best mom in the whole world." Then she stopped for a second and said, "Well, maybe not in the whole world because I don't know all of the moms in the whole world, but your the best mom I know." I said, " So I'm not the best mom in the whole world?" and she said " No, but your the best ole mom in this whole town! " Always thinking!

Braylee has been overly concerned lately about where babies come from and the whole "they come from a mommy's tummy thing" or "they come from God," just isn't cutting it anymore. She wanted to know WHERE they come from. I finally told her that a mommy has an egg inside her belly and when she gets married then God turns the egg into a baby. So now Miss Braylee is all concerned about HER eggs in her belly! We were eating at Taco Johns the other day and out of the blue she asks, "Mom, am I in charge of my own eggs?" I about spit out the drink of pop I had just put in my mouth but was able to tell her, "Yeah Bray, I guess you are in charge of your eggs." I have to remind myself frequently that Braylee is only 3 and not 30! :)

Well, everybody knows Brax is a man of few words so stories on him are kinda limited! The other night we were at El Pueblito in Parsons and the waiter brought Brax a pop. I told Brax to tell the man Thank You. So Brax says thank you and the man says "Por Nada." Brax just looks at him in a confused way and says "Oooo - day (okay)." Maybe you had to be there but it was definitely cute at the time!

Hopefully there will be pictures to come tomorrow!

Not much to say!

Well, not much to say but thought I would update anyway just to reassure all of my faithful followers (ok, maybe only the two of you Erin and Chelse!) that I plan on keeping this updated! Nothing too exciting going on here. We have three grouchy kids tonight! I think it is a go to bed early night for sure! Brecca had dance this afternoon. She didn't get a sticker because she was not "Really" good. In her words, " Well, I was good but you had to be REALLY good to get a sticker." Avrey was with us so I asked her what Brecca had done and she said she was dancing too fast and wasn't keeping up with the rest of them. Nathan's reply - "Well, when the music hits you...."

My supervisor came to visit me at school yesterday and that went well. I was actually a little nervous about it but am glad to have it over with. He evaluated me and gave me the highest scores he gives out, so I was pleased with that. I will get his "official" evaluation form tomorrow so I am looking forward to seeing what that says. I am sure you will be on the edge of your seats until then! :)

I'm back!

Ok, so it's been awhile since I have posted. Mainly because I just wasn't that happy with the look of my page but I have since edited it a little and decided to keep trying! :)

Things are going well for us. Busy weekend though. I always look forward to the weekends but for some reason, they seem to turn out busier than weekdays! Brecca had a soccer game this morning and then both girls had Avrey's birthday party this afternoon. Nate and Brax hung out in Papa Randy's garage this afternoon. Hopefully, it will be naptime shortly!

School is going well for me and also for Brecca! I am really enjoying my student teaching and the people in Erie have really gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Brecca is also enjoying Kdg. I can't believe the drama has already started though. The other day Brecca told me that a boy said her friend was "hot!" I asked her if she knew what hot meant and she acted like I was the stupidest person in the world and said "Pretty." She had her 6th birthday party last weekend. It is still hard to believe she is 6 years old! We had a miniature Olympics out at Dave and Julia's and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. Notice I say the kids enjoyed it and not the adults! :)

Braylee and Brax are doing much better at the babysitters. Brax has even called me "Missy" (his babysitter's name) a couple of times so I guess that means he likes her! Braylee is pretty easy-going so she can either take it or leave it (those of you who know Bray don't have a hard time imagining this, I'm sure)!

Well, it is definitely nap time so I had better take advantage of it in a more productive way than sitting at the computer! I will do a much better job of updating this time! Here are some pictures of Brecca's birthday party....
